Silverstein: This Is How The Wind Shifts February 5
NOVEMBER 26, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – The pride of Burlington, ON, Silverstein today announce their seventh full-length studio album, This Is How The Wind Shifts, for release on February 05, 2013, through Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. This Is How The Wind Shifts marks an artistic departure for the band: a concept album of 14 songs exploring the idea of how a person’s life can change forever from one event. Unlike other concept albums which tie songs together over a linear story arc, This Is How The Wind Shifts paints scenes from multiple points of view. Explains vocalist Shane Told, “Each track has a parallel track that tells the story in a different light, what would have happened if things were different due to a single event. The song titles of each parallel track go together, forming a sentence or in some cases two words that relate to each other and to the story. Overall, the point of this album is not to prove the existence of fate, or to disprove it. It's a discussion of life, of loss, of trial and error, of success within failure, of failure within success, of the struggle between your actions and your feelings, and how those don't always go together.” In their more than a dozen years as a band, the JUNO-nominated Silverstein have written and recorded 79 original songs, released five LPs, 3 EPs, and one mini-album with combined sales of over one million copies. They have performed more than 1500 shows in 34 countries and continue this impressive tour rate with a just-announced 31-date North American headline tour beginning January 25. Full details and updates can be found at the band’s website. Silverstein consists of vocalist Shane Told, bassist Billy Hamilton, drummer Paul Koehler, guitarists Josh Bradford and newcomer Paul Marc Rousseau.
