VANCOUVER’S HEY OCEAN! TO RELEASE DEBUT LP “IS” MAY 15
Toronto, ON (April 12, 2012)
– Vancouver’s own Hey Ocean! are set to release their debut LP, IS on May 15 through Universal Music Canada (UMC), the country’s leading music company. IS includes the band’s catchy first single Big Blue Wave, as well as the album tracks Make a New Dance Up which was recently featured on an episode of drama series Army Wives and Islands which was featured on One Tree Hill.Comprised of three Vancouver natives (Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham, & David Vertesi), Hey Ocean! is to many, the quintessential West Coast band. The release of IS will be their first LP release since signing with UMC in 2011 and timing is perfect with the band having just wrapped up a sold out Canadian tour.

Since their start in 2006, Hey Ocean! have toured tirelessly and developed a captivating and energetic live show that has not only earned them the loyalty of an ever-expanding fan base, but also the reputation for being one of Canada’s best young bands. On June 16 Hey Ocean! are scheduled to play an exciting show at The storied Vogue Theatre in their hometown of Vancouver.
