IMAGINE DRAGONS RELEASE BRAND-NEW SINGLE “BELIEVER”
SONG TO BE FEATURED IN NINTENDO’S FIRST-EVER SUPER BOWL AD
01 FEBRUARY 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band Imagine Dragons release a brand-new single entitled “Believer” on KIDinaKORNER / Interscope Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. “Believer” is available now for digital download and streaming via all participating digital retailers. Vocalist Dan Reynolds says about the track: "This last year has really been the most centered and positive of my life. This song explains my realization that the emotional pain I faced the last few years actually helped me progress to this healthier mental space – that adversity truly is what helps you become a believer in yourself." Imagine Dragons is partnering with Nintendo to showcase “Believer” in a unique way. For the first time ever, Nintendo will run an ad during the Super Bowl, and “Believer” will power the visuals. The ad is showcased online starting today in both a 30-second version as well as an extended cut. Watch it on Nintendo’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/nintendo. Formed in 2009 and featuring lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman, Imagine Dragons earned a grassroots following by independently releasing a series of EPs. After Alex Da Kid signed them to his KIDinaKORNER/Interscope label, the band made its major-label debut with the release of Continued Silence, a 2012 EP featuring the 2x platinum breakthrough single “It’s Time”. Night Visions arrived later that year and Imagine Dragons found themselves on a skyward trajectory that saw the album debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, sell nearly four million copies worldwide, and became the No. 1 album on Spotify Worldwide for 2013. Night Visions’ second single, the 9x-platinum “Radioactive”, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Rock chart and earned the band a 2014 Grammy for “Best Rock Performance.” The third single, “Demons”, hit No. 1 at Alternative and Top 40 radio, and has sold 3.9 million copies in the U.S. Their latest platinum-selling release, Smoke + Mirrors debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.-30-
