06 DECEMBER 2024 (TORONTO, ON) — The Argentinian Bossa-pop trio TRÍADA—comprised of Diamela Spina (percussion, vocals), Aylen Reynoso (guitar) and Julia Percowicz (vocals)—have released “O Pato,” their debut single. Their buoyant cover of Jõao Gilberto’s classic track combines a timeless Bossa- and Latin-pop sound with the group's palpable charisma. “O Pato” is out now, listen HERE.
Of their debut single, TRÍADA says:
Spanish: “’O Pato’ es una canción a la que le tenemos mucho cariño ya que marcó parte de nuestra vida y nos marcó el camino en nuestros inicios como grupo. Este sencillo es el comienzo de un nuevo camino, lleno de alegría.”
English: “’O Pato’ is a song that we are very fond of, as it marked part of our lives and showed us the way in our beginnings as a group. This single is the beginning of a new path, full of joy.”
TRÍADA have also released a performance video to accompany the release of “O Pato,” available to watch HERE.
The Buenos Aires-based trio, who started making music together while students in performing arts school, have amassed millions of views and a global audience since they began self-recording music in 2023. As they gained momentum, they decided to call themselves TRÍADA, a reference to the musical language of three notes that make a chord, and the sisterhood of three individuals.
Their undeniable musical chemistry finds a kinship with the Bossa- and Latin-pop revivalism of artists like Tim Bernardes, Lianne La Havas and Rita Payes, while sharing the depth of pioneers like Jõao Gilberto, Spinetta and Gustavo Pena. Their resulting work pulls from the genres of Bossa Nova, Rock Nacional, folk, indie, Candombe, jazz and soul, that could only be delivered with their Gen Z charm.
In 2025, the next phase of TRÍADA’s journey begins – look out for more information coming soon about their debut release.
