7 JULY 2023 (TORONTO, ON) —Today, 21-year-old singer-songwriter, Braden Bales, releases his debut EP, NOMAD. The project comes fresh off the heels of his latest single, “PICK ME UP” and the incredible success of the Ontario native’s viral hit, “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS”, which has amassed over 21M streams on Spotify alone, over 31M total views and 2.9M likes TikTok. Braden sings about stress, anxiety, and the push to overcome it, a throughline that is continued on NOMAD. The title of the project is inspired by the state of mind Braden has been in while spending the last year moving from place to place, living out of his car at one point to chase his dream, and trying to find a new home where he can be his most authentic and most creative self. The EP contains both “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS” and “PICK ME UP”, as well as two brand-new tracks and a stripped-down version of “CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS”. Braden Bales says, ’Nomad’ is a word I have used to describe myself since I left home in November of 2022 to chase my dream. I packed all my things and moved to Los Angeles where I lived in my car, and while I was trying to figure out a way to make it, the distance from my hometown made me realize that I need to live among other creatives to thrive. I quickly learned that LA was not the place for me and was staying in Nashville when ‘CHRONICALLY CAUTIOUS’ went viral. It felt like everything was changing all at once while so many aspects of my life were in the air. While i’m still making sense of it all, I wrestled through a lot of those feelings in my debut EP. Life can be confusing and unstable at times, but I hope anyone who listens can connect with my music to feel a little less alone.”
