21 MARCH 2025 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, breakthrough pop artist Sofia Camara releases her first official body of work, launching her debut EP Was I(t) Worth It? via 21 Entertainment and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, with international support from Mercury Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK.
A collection of songs that the 22-year-old emerging star has written over the last few years, Was I(t) Worth It? explores themes of heartbreak, toxic relationship cycles, accountability, and perseverance. It features the viral hit single “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent),” which has amassed over 44 million global streams since its release last year, the previously released song “Starlight,” and four new tracks, including the latest new single “Here We Go Again.”
All songs were co-written by Sofia Camara alongside a star-studded list of songwriters and producers, including 2025 JUNO Award nominees Lowell and Nathan Ferraro, Jamie Fine, Red Triangle, Wayne Hector, Kayla Diamond, Mike Wise, Joel Stouffer, and Gray Hawken.
The EP marks a significant milestone in Camara’s healing journey, who wishes her fans will find hope in this collection of songs. “Although it feels like you may be in a deep hole with no light at the end of the tunnel, I can promise you that there is a way out. Everything that I felt in the moment while I was making these songs, I’m in such a better place now. This project shows how my music and emotions have developed and represents the parts of me that I have been too afraid to share that I’m finally ready to fully unleash.”
Was I(t) Worth It? is the culmination of a highlight year for Camara, who performed the national anthem at the 111th Grey Cup, was selected for the coveted VEVO DSCVR program, had the official song of the IIHF World Juniors, sang across Canada on the CPKC Holiday Train, and sold out her very first headline shows in Europe.
She kicked off this year as direct support on Dean Lewis’ The Epilogue World Tour, marking her first time performing in arenas. Together with Lewis, Camara released “With You” earlier this month after teasing the duet on the road. This summer, she performs her first major festival dates at Osheaga in Montréal and Lollapalooza in Chicago. Next weekend, Sofia hits the stage in Vancouver at the Fox Cabaret for JUNOFest.
2025 is set to be a breakout year for Sofia Camara, with more new music and exciting announcements to come.

ABOUT SOFIA CAMARA:
For Sofia Camara, music has always been more than its sound or the feeling that emerges when she strikes the right chord. In her world, sometimes full of uncertainty, noise, and emotion that manifests from places she’d never thought possible, it can be her anchor—the one thing that continually makes sense in a world that often doesn’t.
The viral success of “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)”—now boasting over 44 million global streams—shattered the glass ceiling, launching her into a whirlwind of career-firsts and achievements that followed just as quickly. She took it all in stride—joining Dean Lewis and Alex Warren on their respective European & UK tours, and standing centre stage at the 2024 CFL Grey Cup, where she delivered a gripping performance of the Canadian national anthem. Her beautifully reimagined take of Nickelback’s “What Are You Waiting For?” became the official 2025 IIHF World Junior championship song, further cementing her presence on major stages. But her most defining moment yet was stepping into the spotlight on her own terms—selling out her first headline shows across Europe. As she continues writing new chapters of her story, Sofia rides the high of it all, knowing that wherever her music takes her next, the whole world will be singing along with her.
Her spellbinding ability to reimagine and interpret songs in a way that feels reinvigorating—almost like you’re listening to the song for the first time again— has earned recognition from artists like Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Tate McRae, Gracie Abrams, and more.
With the release of her debut EP Was I(t) Worth It?, Sofia delivers a body of work that represents who she is at this stage in her career, with the hope that listeners will walk away feeling seen and understood. The multi-track debut EP is a culmination of the experiences, emotions, and stories she’s carried with her since the dream of becoming a musician became her reality, with each song reflecting a different chapter of her legacy.
