GOOD NEIGHBOURS SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘BLOOM’ ALONGSIDE DETAILS OF THEIR SELF-TITLED DEBUT EP, DUE OCTOBER 4TH
22 AUGUST 2024 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, feel-good trailblazers Good Neighbours share their new single ‘Bloom’ taken from their forthcoming debut EP, out on October 4th via Polydor Records/Universal Music Canada, ‘Bloom’ arrives just ahead of the bands’ inaugural set at Reading & Leeds festival this weekend with the EP (available digitally and on Vinyl/CD) landing on the day they start the UK leg of their autumn World Tour. The new single comes along with a special performance video (directed by Isaac Lamb) which brings to life the band's vibrant, hand-drawn doodles, placing them into the world of the EP and its singles, watch HERE.
‘Bloom’ is the latest in a series of successful singles for Scott Verrill and Oli Fox - the East London-based duo whose career was kick started early in 2024 when their debut single ‘Home’ became the first official viral hit of the year so far, with 350 million global streams being just one of its current accolades. ‘Keep It Up’ and ‘Daisies’ followed which cemented the fact that these boys clearly know how to write a rousing pop song bursting with positivity and hope.
"We wrote ‘Bloom' on a sunny day in January before ‘Home’ went viral on the internet. It was the first sun of the year and that’s how the song sounds. It’s about letting go of your inhibitions with someone and taking it all as it comes, knowing you’ll be there no matter what.”
Recently, Good Neighbours shared their cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s hit single ‘Espresso’, for Triple J’s Like A Version. Watch the special performance HERE. This led to a swathe of calls from fans to release their version officially, which they did earlier this month. This exceptional cover, alongside covers of Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ and a mashup of MGMT’s ‘Time To Pretend’ and Lorde’s ‘Perfect Places’, as recorded for Jack Saunders show on BBC Radio 1, will be available as bonus tracks on the vinyl and CD formats of the EP. Pre-order/pre-save HERE.
Optimism and connection are also key ingredients of Good Neighbours. Their music is an amalgamation of their emotive indie influences of yesteryear such as MGMT, Passion Pit and Bleachers. They came together to create an indie-euphoric dreamscape of sound and vision for a subdued generation. Live, they bring the inclusive party to fans everytime - racing through the London gig circuit and beyond, Scott and Oli are enjoying a packed summer festival season playing a whole host of key slots for the first time - including shows at Latitude, Boardmasters, All Points East and Reading and Leeds.
