NEW TRACKS “AUGUST” AND “VEGAS” INCLUDING OFFICIAL VIDEO OUT NOW
23 FEBRUARY 2024 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, LA-via-Ontario rising star Johnny Orlando shares the full-length project The Ride out today via Universal Music Canada/Republic Records. The Ride album delves into the complexities of past romance. In 2023, Orlando introduced The Ride: Part 1, followed by subsequent releases of The Ride: Part 2 and The Ride: Part 3. Now, the project wraps up with two new songs, "August” and “Vegas”, including accompanying video co-starring Orlando and fellow artist singer-songwriter, Sadie Jean.

Co-produced by Orlando in collaboration with Peter Fenn (Metro Boomin, Valley), and accompanied by an official music video, the focus track “Vegas”, portrays the hopeful aftermath of a relationship, through pensive and incredibly palpable lyrics. “August” produced by Mike Sonier (Maggie Rogers, The Weeknd) and Colin Munroe is the closing of the era, a poetic echo to the first single released from The Ride: Part 1, titled “July”.
Orlando shares, “As much as this project and my music was meant for my fans, it was really something I just needed to say. 'August' is the last song I’ll ever write about that time in my life, and 'Vegas' is kind of the first positive look ahead.”
The Ride tells the story of love, hate, confusion, and hope presented in multiple parts. Orlando unveils raw emotions through lyrics about a first love, and the journey he's experienced along the way. Crafting this body of work was a cathartic experience for him while processing these significant life moments shared by his generation. Now compiling all the parts into one full-length album, each part delves into two contracting perspectives from blissful and confident to sad and low moments, showcasing all their infinite complexities.
