“you’ll find tracks that are pure synth-funk magic, and others with viscerally transportive sensory detailing — all burning rubber, chlorine, and tangerines. Wolf doesn’t just want you to hear her world. She wants you to taste, touch, and smell it, too.” - ROLLING STONE

“Wolf’s second album could be one of the defining pop projects of the summer.” - BILLBOARD

“Remi Wolf is realer than ever” - HYPEBEAST

12 JULY 2024 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, creative maverick Remi Wolf has solidified herself as this generation’s alternative pop heartthrob with the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Big Ideas, out now on Island Records. Listen HEREBig Ideas comes as Remi's most artistically ambitious and refined project yet, defying all conventional notions and surpassing expectations of what fans have come to expect from a Remi album. The new album’s sense of refined craftsmanship is fully embodied on the focus track “Soup, which she released earlier this week alongside a visualizer. “Soup” comes as a nostalgic 80’s synth-pop influenced power ballad, showcasing Remi’s super-star caliber songwriting. Vibrant synth chords and a disco-esque percussion groove lay the foundation for Remi to pour out layers of her soulful vocals expressing the pain that comes with heartbreak. Remi’s reflective lyrics intertwine moments of self-realization and maturity with hints of playful delusion, as she finds herself refusing to let go of a situation that no longer exists.  Earlier this year, Remi built up anticipation for her long-awaited return after releasing the first single of the record “Cinderella. The disco-rock bop would be the first in a streak of sonically boundless releases along with “Toro, “Alone in Miami, and “Motorcycle, each peeling back the curtain a bit more into Remi’s magnum opus.

“Soup explores my relationship to commitment and follow through. If you ever really wanted to be there for someone fully but ended up getting drunk on a rooftop instead, Soup is for you!, says Remi. She further describes her new project by saying, “Big Ideas in essence is my mid 20s coming of age album. It documents all my wild nights, situationships, and jet lagged high highs, low lows and evolving thoughts on my identity and purpose in this world. ALL THE BIG IDEAS!!! Also it sounds sick af and was very fun to make. Please enjoy my children.”

Big Ideas propels Remi to new heights as her honed sense of self and musicianship is on full display, presenting her big ideas as a heartfelt anthology of guitar-smashing, hair-raising, soul-bearing, lung-filling, life-altering bangers. Following the release of her 2021 critically acclaimed debut album Juno, Remi’s ascent into stardom has been undeniable. She has performed all over the world; whether it be at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, SXSW, Newport Folk Festival and Bonnaroo, selling out tours across North America and Europe at venues like Terminal 5 in NYC or The Shrine in LA, or opening for artists like Lorde, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Paramore. This spring, she toured with Olivia Rodrigo on her European leg of the The GUTS World Tour, playing venues like The O2 in London and Accor Arena in Paris. In support of the new album, Remi will be going on her own international headlining Big Ideas tour, set to kick-off on September 10th. See below for a full list of dates.
