The track gives listeners insight into the emotional side of Andye. He regrets losing his “diamond in rough,” looking back on the mistakes he made in their relationship.

“‘Hypothetical’ was one of the hardest songs for me to write because it came from a real place of regret,” says Andye. “Being in the studio with my collaborators, I wanted to capture that raw feeling of knowing you had something special and letting it slip away. It’s a reminder that love isn’t just about being there—it’s about showing up, appreciating the little things, and not waiting until it’s too late.”

Alongside the single is a visualizer that stays true to Andye’s eye for compelling visuals. Andye’s image reflects in the mirror, demonstrating the track’s introspective themes.

Following his previous cinematic music videos for “All To Myself” and “Hopeless Sinners,” “Hypothetical” is a continuation of a dramatic narrative in the Andye universe.

ABOUT ANDYE:
Andye is just getting started. With only a few releases, the Ethiopian-born and Toronto-raised singer and dancer has already accumulated over 5.6 million streams across all platform —in addition to his 2.1 million likes on TikTok and over 625,000 views on YouTube. Among Andye’s chief sonic influences are The Weeknd’s dark, raw sounds and storytelling and the distinct artistry of Michael Jackson. He dreams of collaborating with producers like Doc McKinney (known for working with The Weeknd). With his eyes trained relentlessly forward, blinkered to any mental or physical obstacles that might trip up a less concentrated artist, Andye spurs himself toward his goals. He knows they are achievable, simply because he believes he’ll get there in the end. “I want to break records,” he says matter-of-factly. “I want to be the best I can be. The way people say, 'I want to do this like Michael'—in 10 years, I want them to be like, 'this sounds like Andye'. I want my music to have that type of impact.”
